Leni Knits features the creations of Leni Petrov, a veterinary nurse who combines her love of knitting, a tradition passed down from her grandmother, and a true caring for animals into artisanal outerwear for pets. Leni was born to a long line of artists, builders and entrepreneurs and raised between a horse farm in Upstate New York, apartment life in New York City and regular visits to her mother's family in Vancouver, British Columbia. She has attended University in New York, Pennsylvania, Ireland and Canada studying a wide range of subjects including History, Political Science, Literature and Biology. Her lifelong work with horses brought her from New England to Florida, Kentucky, Texas, Quebec, and Georgia. She currently lives in Vancouver, Canada with her spouse and dog Milk Boii, where she has worked as a Veterinary Nurse and Practice Manager for 7 years. Her horse of 20 years Trucker, now age 27, is retired in the Shuswap living his best life.
Leni's unique combination of experience, knowledge and diverse cultural exposure has come together in both a creative, entrepreneurial and animal husbandry spirit as Leni Knits--an outlet where she exercises her technical artistry, creativity and deep love of animals while weaving her respect for long standing traditions into modern applications.
